In July 2017 I applied a work and holiday visa of Australia. It will be expired after Sep 08 2018 which means I must land Australia before that day. So I plan to quit my job at the end of August and go to Australia in early September. Thus from now on I have about eight months to do preparations.

I realize the most important thing to find a job in Australia is English. So I decide to develop an app to improve my English skill. With the ability of non-obstacle communicating in English I will be confident of finding a job.

Generally finding a job is composed of two process: receiving interview invitation and attending job interview. I should prepare for each of these two process.

Preparing for receiving a job interview

Facing the fact that I don't have a computer science degree or working experience of giant company how can I attract others attention?

Here is something I think I can do:

First of all is blogging. Actually I have been blogging for a long time. But it's not frequent enough and most of them are in Chinese. In the future I will keep blogging but in English. Hope it can also help me improve my poor writing skill.

Another valuable thing to do is developing personal project. It can not only exercise my programming skill but also help people with the same need as I do. Actually there are already two projects in my mind. One is the vocabulary app I mention above and the other is the blogging platform I'm using now.

If my skill as a developer is recognized by a third party maybe my chance of receiving a interview invitation will increase dramatically. So in the next few months I want to earn a Mobile Web Specialist Certification from Google. At the same time I will also try my best to earn some certifications from freeCodeCamp.

Preparing for attending a job interview

Once I receive a job interview invitation I must maximize the chance of getting the job offer. So I need to prepare for attending a job interview.

I intend to follow the step of Interview Cake to prepare for a job interview. After that I will take some mock interviews which I hope could relieve my stress when attending a genuine interview.

Except all the things above I can't think what else I could do to realize my dream. If you do please let me know. I will really appreciate it.
