This article introduce 3 open-source benchmarks, Phoronix Test Suit, DCBench and BigDataBench.
Phoronix Test Suit
Phoronix Test Suite is a multi-platform, easy-to-use and cost-saving benchmark. There are more than 200 tests available by default, which are transparently available via OpenBenchmarking.org integration. Of these default test profiles there is a range of sub-systems that can be tested and a range of hardware from mobile devices to desktops and worksrtations/servers.
DCBench
DCBench is developed by the Institute of Computing Technology(ICT), Chinese Academy of Sciences. It is a benchmark suite for data center workloads. The first release provides 19 representative workloads come from data center systems. The benchmark suite provides diverse kinds of workloads (on-line & off-line) and with different programming models (MPI, MapReduce, and etc.) and programming languages.
BigDataBench
BigDataBench is also developed by the Institute of Computing Technology(ICT), Chinese Academy of Science. It is a big data benchmark suite. It includes 6 real-world and 2 synthetic data sets, and 32 big data workloads, covering micro and application benchmarks from areas of search engine, social networks, e-commerce, multimedia and bioinformatics. In generating representative and variety of big data workloads, BigDataBench focuses on units of computation frequently appearing in Cloud “OLTP”, OLAP, interactive and offline analytics.
